On September 17, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust paid out a regular quarterly dividend of $8.66 on the 15.191 shares held by the FMJ fund. The dividend was reinvested for .234 fractional shares. Our total holdings have increased to 15.425 shares.

September 26: At the Wood Ranch recycling center, I stopped to turn in a box full of bottles and cans and received $4.85 for them. We are now less than $1.00 away from our goal of attaining $1,000 in two years from recycling bottles and cans. October 5, 2007 will mark our two year anniversary for the B&C Fund.

September 23: After our Moorpark Men's Doubles Team tennis match this morning in which Glenn and I defeated Gerry and Jay - the #1 double teams on Larry Gee's incredibly good Simi Valley team -- 6-7 (2-7), 6-4, 7-5, the kids and I went to Northridge Mall on Tampa Blvd. in the San Fernando Valley. In the food court, we found a quarter, 2 dimes and 2 pennies.

September 16: We celebrated Aunt Pratu's 65th Birthday with a family BBQ at Dana Point Park overlooking the Pacific... Absolutely, BEAUTIFUL! The kids were given the task of keeping the Soda Cans and beer away from the bees... the did a good job and for their benefit collected it all for their fund.

While paying for parking at the beach, I found 10 pennies resting on the ledge of the payment booth... later, I found a penny at the ARCO gas station in Dana Point, CA.

September 15: Ajay and I found a dime and 7 pennies in and around the Albertson's and Best Dollar stores in Moorpark, CA where we had to stop prior to my tennis team match at Arroyo Vista Park. We also brought a empty box to the match for collecting recyclable bottles and cans... we simply attached a sign to it that read, "Please drop your bottles and cans in the box for recycling. Recycling Update.

September 12: I took a trip to the recycling center in Wood Ranch... while standing in line for the machines, I offered the lady behind me $3.00 for her large bag of cans as she was in a hurry and I saw no reason why she should be made to come back. (The gas alone is a killer.) She appreciatively took my offer and I made an extra $2.55 for my effort. Total CRV cash deposits recouped for this today's venture -- $9.85!

September 8: This afternoon, I played in our first team doubles match of the season. Our opponents where the team from Spanish Hills Country Club of Camarillo, CA. My partner, Jay Taylor, and I won our match 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 giving our Moorpark Tennis Club Arroyo Aces team the victory 2-1. We play 3 doubles matches per team meeting and we have 11 guys on on our squad.

After the match, the kids and I went to Costco in Simi Valley for hot dogs... I picked up a quarter by the drink machine and Ajay found a penny.

An evening trip to In-N-Out Burger in Moorpark and a stop at Target -- 5 pennies came our way, there.

Recycling Update

Yesterday, we returned $12.00 worth of bottles and cans to the recycling center at the Ralph's on L.A. Ave. Among our returns were some donations from Aunt Reshma... She's decided to join in our campaign and promised to save her bottles and cans for the kids. So far, the kids have three family households donating to their fund. Keep on recycling.
