March 25: Five pennies found. Beach day for us. We sat ourselves down at Emma Wood state beach for a few hours in the afternoon... took a long walk and did a "zenful" nothing. Relaxing! After that, some shopping at the Camarillo Outlets, where Ajay and I found the five pennies. We also cleaned the beach a little by retrieving any bottles or cans we saw along our walk -- 8 found.
Got a great deal on a new tennis outfit at the Reebok store. I'm going to save it for our first Spring League USTA Doubles Match. Ajay bought Adidas socks... Maya also spent some of her dough... "her purchase is a secret." Mommy's buy is also a "secret." I think they're feeling a little guilty as we said we would make any purchases until our spring vacation to Sedona, Arizona in April... So much for resolutions.
BTW! I learned something the other day... when you ship your empty printer cartridge back to the manufacturer for recycling in their "postage-paid bag," the HP company doesn't actually reuse and refill the cartridge. They physically destroy it so that companies that offer the refill and recycling service can't get their hands on it. Not good for the environment! There is a franchise called CARTRIDGE WORLD that sells a guaranteed remanufactured and refilled printer cartridge for about 50% less... My HP-56 is $19.98 at Staples -- I turned in my old cartridge and paid $11.00 for the recycled HP-56 at Cartridge World in Cerritos, CA. Works Great!
We turned $1.10 worth of bottles and cans at the Wood Ranch Recycling near the Ralph's in Wood Ranch. I'll add it to the total later when I cash the slip.
