FMJ - Day 293 New Home report.

January 14: We received the keys for our new home today. Doing the U-Haul self move for this segment of our move. The 15 months in an apartment while our house was on the market until its sale has been quite bitter sweet... Sweet part was it provided a quick answer to our initial housing concerns and the bitter part has been the confined space with two kids and a dog named Biscuit. Still, I think it was what we needed as it totally readjusted our thinking towards space needs. We learned through practice to be better users of space. Coming from a 4100 Sq. ft. east coast house to a less than 1000 sq. ft. two bedroom apartment was a challenge... we survived and endured.

Our new home seems like a palace at 2600 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and a 3 car garage. Its view of valley is breath-taking! We're about a third moved in as of this evening. Now, I can get all of my big comfy furniture out of storage... Yippee!

Upon opening and inspecting the Uhaul truck this morning, I found a quarter and a penny in the cargo area... so, much for the last user sweeping the truck clean. For that, I got the opportunity to pick it clean!

The kid's Uncle Nicky made an unusual appearance to help with our move. He's normally not a player at activities that involve manual labor. More unusual was his donation of water bottles. I thanked him for his support and contribution to the cause.
