FMJ - Day 445

June 16: Found three pennies. The first two were found at Von's Supermarket on Yosemite Ave. The last one was found while pumping gas at the new Exxon on Cochran. Yesterday, I played in our last team match of the spring season... Dan Van Heerdon and I played against Barry L. and Larry H. They're the #1 doubles team in the Moorpark Tennis Club... Dan and I won the match - 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). It was an extremely tight match... we were down 2-4 in the first set and fought hard to win four straight games. It was a great win for us.... For our team captain is was an especially cherished win for reasons I'll keep in close confidence.

After the match, Maya, Ajay and I stayed at the courts for drills. The kids are improving -- we've been spending more time on backhands hit down the line and volleys and smashes. Maya is participating in a 5 week tennis camp this summer at UC Northridge. The camp is run by the Northridge team tennis coach. It will be exciting to see her tennis when the camp is finished in August.

We collected a big bag of bottles and cans from the team match.
