June 29: The first week of Maya's tennis camp is over. Today, she was awarded a medal for her efforts on the court. She survived the challengingly hot weather of the Northridge area and made many new "tennis" friends. Next week, there is no camp as it's "Fourth of July." They pick back up for 4 straight weeks starting on the July 9th. I've also entered her in the Northridge Jr. Tournament held at the CSUN in the afternoons starting also on the 9th. It will be her first taste of competitive tennis.
Coin finds: 34 cents including 3 dimes and 4 pennies. Late last night during my evening neighborhood walk, I found 2 pennies in the parking lot of the McDonald's on Yosemite Ave. At breakfast (same McD's), we found 2 pennies. A stop for Ice Cream at Von's on Yosemite Ave. brought us a dime. Lunch at the Northridge Mall food court and Ajay finds 2 dimes at the Donatello's Pizza. I bought a stand-up Ozone reducing fan at the Sharper Image... they're having a very good sale on them right now. I had bought a smaller compact version and had it by my bedside. The fans are quite refreshing and pleasant.
